Barberstown Castle: The Castle Keep was built in the early 13th century to guard its inhabitants in medieval times. The Eliabethan House built in the second half of the 16th century is one of the few houses in this area which has been in continuous occupation for over 400 years. It was owned by Eric Clapton from 1979 -1989. Now it’s a four star hotel famous for its fine dining.

Castletown House: Ireland’s largest and earliest Palladian mansion, in Celbridge. Speaker Connolly resided there with his family. Open to the Public and hosts various functions, concerts.

Celbridge Abbey: built 1697 by Bartholomew Van Homrigh, Lord Mayor of Dublin. His daughter, Esther was Jonathan Swift’s Vanessa, which he paid many visit to the Abbey to have her company. She is reputed to have planted a laurel tree after each of his visits. 


The Curragh Racecourse: home of Premier Flat Racing in Ireland.

Lyons Demesne: Dating back to 1785 recently restored by the late Dr. Tony Ryan of Ryan Air.

Killadoon House: Dated first tenant 1467. In 1764 it became the property of the Clements family which still hold the estate today.

Kildrought House: Robert Baillie (c.1685-1761) who furnished Dublin Castle, lived here in 1719.
